Source. Ministry of Infrastructure.

Details. It is noted that the volume of imports was increasing most rapidly from March to May. The agency explains that during this time the industry managed to return to the volume of international road freight transport that Ukraine had had before the full-scale invasion of russia.

Most of the goods were imported by trucks – almost 11 million tonnes. In second place in terms of import volumes is the railway (9.89 million tonnes), and in third place – sea transport (7.16 million tonnes).

At the same time, ships were leading in the export of goods last year – they transported 53.86 million tonnes. Ships were followed by railway (33.73 million tonnes) and road transport (12 million tonnes).

In total, in 2022, Ukraine exported almost 99.8 million tonnes of goods and imported more than 30.34 million tonnes. The value of exports amounted to almost $44.2 billion, and imports – more than $54.5 billion.

According to the Ministry of Infrastructure, the key factors of normalization of trade logistics were as follows:

  • conclusion of the "Grain Initiative" with the UN and Turkey, which allowed to unblock the ports of Greater Odesa;
  • signing of the Agreement on liberalisation of road freight transport with the EU;
  • development of border infrastructure, including increasing the capacity of existing road and railway checkpoints, as well as opening new ones;
  • increasing cargo transshipment in the ports of the Danube port cluster.
