Baltic States and Finland ban import of oil products from Russia in cans
Since February 6, the EU has banned the purchase, import and transfer of Russian oil products

On February 6, the Baltic States – Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia – and Finland banned the import of oil products from Russia in cans into their territories, including for their citizens.
Source. This was reported by Piret Tinkus, Head of the Prohibitions and Restrictions Department of the Estonian Tax and Customs Board.
Details. "Since February 6, it has been prohibited to buy, import and transfer petroleum products if they come from Russia," the statement said.
Currently, about 80% of passenger cars carry a 10-liter canister of fuel when crossing the border with Estonia for the first time, Tinkus said. EU residents have the right to buy fuel in Russia if it is necessary to complete their trip and return to the EU.
The department's website gives examples according to which an Estonian citizen is also not allowed to import gasoline in a canister when traveling to Russia and returning back, but only in a tank:
"A person may take back the prohibited goods or refuse them in favor of the state. This product is subject for destruction".
On February 5, Western countries introduced a ceiling on prices for refined petroleum products: $100 per barrel for crude oil and $45 per barrel for discounted oil, according to an EU press release.
At the same time, Europe has stocked up on fuel and prepared for potential supply problems, so Moscow will face more severe consequences.
