Launching two more NPP units will reduce power outages - Galushchenko
In the coming days, the nuclear power plant will produce about 7,700 MW of electricity

Details. According to the minister, the launch of two units will significantly reduce the generation deficit in the power system and will allow to reduce blackouts.
Shortages in generation, along with problems in power transmission, are the main two reasons why power goes out.
"Yesterday (February 0) there was another mass attack that hit both the generation and transmission capabilities. Today, due to the launch of the relevant units, we are significantly reducing the deficit in the system. Accordingly, this will affect the duration of the outages," – Galushchenko said.
With the launch of two units, the country's energy system will receive an additional 1,220 MW of electricity.
In total, nuclear power plants on the territory controlled by Ukraine will produce about 7,700 MW of electricity in the coming days, stressed the head of "Energoatom" Petro Kotin.
Now, all 9 power units of nuclear power plants located in the state-controlled territory are operating in the energy system of Ukraine.
Another six power units of the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhya NPP have been shut down.
Background. It was previously reported that the Rivne and South Ukrainian NPPs reduced electricity production as a precautionary measure due to Russian shelling on February 10.
