We need these funds for critical expenditures: financing salaries and pensions, education and medicine," Shmyhal said at a government meeting on Tuesday.

The Prime Minister also said that a discussion with the IMF mission had begun in Warsaw on the prospects for preparing and revising the Monitoring Program.

"This is the way to a new stage of cooperation with the Fund. We expect progress in the negotiation process," he summarized.
