Moldova explains that airspace was closed because of a balloon spotted in the sky

A small balloon-like object was spotted in Moldova near the town of Soroca, which borders Ukraine. It happened around 12.30.

Source. This was reported by the Civil Aviation Authority of the country.

Details. Taking into account the weather conditions and the impossibility of monitoring and identifying the object, as well as its flight trajectory, it was decided to temporarily close the airspace of Moldova.

"After verifying the information and making sure that there was no threat to the safety of citizens, at 14:46, the airspace was reopened at the request of the Ministry of Defense. At present, flights are being operated in safe conditions," the Civil Aviation Authority said.

In addition, on February 14, a spy balloon was also spotted in Romanian airspace.

Meanwhile, the day before, on February 13, the fourth unidentified object was shot down in the United States.

As reported, on February 4, the US Armed Forces shot down a Chinese spy balloon off the coast of the Carolinas after it crossed important military installations across North America.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ihnat said that Russian reconnaissance balloons with angular reflectors could have caused the closure of the airspace over Moldova.
