Wallace: Russia sent 97% of its army to Ukraine
Even this did not help it break through Ukraine's defense

Russia has failed to "break through" Ukraine's defense, although it has already deployed 97% of its army.
Source. This was stated by British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace to the BBC before the start of talks with NATO defense ministers in the Ramstein format.
Details. "This has come at a huge cost to the Russian army. We now estimate that 97% of the Russian army, the entire Russian army, is in Ukraine," he said.
He noted that the combat capability of the Russian army has been reduced by 40%, almost two-thirds of its tanks have been destroyed or damaged, which directly affects the security of Europe.
Russia has not been able to gather any force to "break through" Ukraine's defense, he said. Rather, "we just saw an attempted advance," Wallace said.
Background. As a reminder, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said that the allies would help Ukraine launch a counteroffensive in the spring.
