China is preparing a plan for a peace treaty for Russia and Ukraine, with which it will go to Moscow
China considers that the conflict can be resolved through peaceful negotiations

China is preparing a new plan for the peaceful settlement of the war in Ukraine, taking into account respect for the sovereignty of all countries. This was stated by Wang Yi, head of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Central Committee, in his speech at the Munich Security Conference. He will arrive in Moscow next week.

Details. The new peace proposal will repeat the points of the previous plan put forward by Chinese leader Xi Jinping. This includes, in particular, adherence to the principles of the UN Charter.
China stands firmly on the side of peace and dialogue and is convinced that the conflict can be resolved through peaceful negotiations, Wang Yi said.
The parties have held several rounds of peace talks in Belarus and Turkey, but the process has stalled for unclear reasons, he said. Probably, some countries do not want peace in Ukraine, the diplomat suggested. He did not specify who he was referring to.
The day before, China called on Russia and Ukraine to end the conflict as soon as possible. The country's permanent representative to the UN, Zhang Jun, said at a meeting of the Security Council that Russia should cease fire and sit down at the negotiating table with Ukraine "as soon as possible."
He noted that Beijing supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries. However, the diplomat added that the legitimate security interests of all states should be taken into account in the course of conflict resolution.
According to him, the parties should discuss how to build a "balanced and sustainable security architecture."
"If all the provisions of the Minsk agreements had been effectively implemented, the Ukrainian crisis might not have resulted in what it is today," the envoy added.
Jun also called on Western countries to join the settlement process.
"The United States, the EU and NATO should also sit down with Russia for a comprehensive and in-depth dialogue based on the principles of security of security," Jun said.
Background. In January, it became known that Russian President Putin had not warned Chinese President Xi Jinping about his plans to invade Ukraine. A few days before the invasion, Putin visited Beijing and said only that he could take "measures" if Kyiv attacked Russian territory and provoked a humanitarian catastrophe, the Financial Times wrote, citing Chinese officials. Because of this, the Chinese authorities no longer trust Putin, and they "simply do not understand Russia."
As reported, U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris said for the first time that Russia had committed crimes against humanity in Ukraine.
