Chinese leader Xi Jinping is set to visit Moscow
His visit will be part of China's efforts to hold multilateral peace talks

Chinese President Xi Jinping intends to visit Moscow to meet with Russian рresident Vladimir Putin in the coming months. The Wall Street Journal reports this with reference to sources familiar with the plan.
According to them, the Chinese leader may come to Russia in April or early May on the eve of Victory Day.
Beijing has decided to play a more important role in the settlement of the war in Ukraine, the sources said. According to them, Xi's meeting with Putin will be part of China's efforts to hold multilateral peace talks. In addition, the Chinese president intends to once again warn Putin against the use of nuclear weapons, the sources said.
On Tuesday, February 21, Wang Yi, a member of the Chinese Politburo in charge of foreign policy, arrived in Russia to discuss Xi Jinping's visit to Moscow, the WSJ reports.
The day before, Wang Yi said at the Munich Security Conference that China is preparing a new plan for a peaceful settlement of the war in Ukraine. According to him, this plan will take into account respect for "the sovereignty of all countries."
Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said he had read the key elements of China's plan and was waiting for the full text before drawing conclusions. For Ukraine, the cornerstone of any peace treaty will be the principle of territorial integrity, he added.
"Because if any country helps Russia to destroy the territorial integrity of Ukraine, then the principle is violated, and the message is clear: any other country can do this in any other specific situation on the world map," he said.
On Tuesday, in his address to the Federal Assembly, Putin announced that Russia was ending its participation in the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty, the last bilateral U.S.-Russian agreement that limits the number of nuclear weapons on both sides.
Putin also instructed the defense ministry and Rosatom to "ensure readiness" for tests of Russian nuclear weapons.
