The National Security and Defence Council has decided to impose sanctions against all russian banks, including the Central Bank of the russian federation, as well as against non-bank credit organisations, payment system operators, professional stock market participants, insurance companies, investment funds and other financial services institutions for 50 years.
In particular, it prohibits the establishment and maintenance of business relations with financial institutions of the russian federation, the purchase of securities, investment, etc. It is noted that the relevant proposal was submitted by the National Bank.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has submitted a resolution to the Verkhovna Rada to approve a decision on imposition of sanctions on russian financial institutions.
This was announced by Yaroslav Zhelezniak, MP, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Financial Policy.
President Zelensky proposes to approve the decision of the National Security and Defence Council of February 22 "On the application of sectoral special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions) to financial institutions of the russian federation." According to Mr. Zhelezniak, consideration of the draft resolution is planned in the near term.
