Turkey stops supplying sanctioned goods to Russia after US warning
Previously agreed cargo flight bookings are canceled

Russia may lose its largest hub for circumventing Western sanctions, through which it has been receiving sanctioned goods. Turkey suddenly stopped the transit of goods to Russia, which were sent, in particular, through parallel import channels (i.e. without the consent of the right holder – ed.).

According to them, the stop came as a surprise to Russian business: the customs system began to block the clearance of goods of non-Turkish origin.
Agents have been reporting that previously agreed flight bookings have been canceled since Wednesday, March 8, said Georgy Vlastopulo, CEO of Optimalog. According to him, attempts to re-register the cargo have come to nothing.
"The system really blocks everything," the businessman confirmed.
Valeria Savenkova, Commercial Director of Transasia Logistics, also noted that the system for processing transit and export documents for Russia in Turkey is not working. According to her, it is pointless to wait for official statements or explanations from the authorities: Turkey has never recognized the supply of sanctioned goods. "Therefore, information will appear only through unofficial channels," she warned.
Background. Meanwhile, it has been reported that Turkey has refused to invest in the Russian "gas hub" as its priorities have changed after the earthquakes.
