Slovakia and Poland agree to jointly transfer MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine
Duda also reiterated his readiness to help Ukraine with fighter jets

Following a proposal from Slovakia, Poland has agreed to a joint transfer of MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine. This was announced by Slovak Defense Minister Jaroslav Nad. He also called on the Slovak government to make a decision on this issue.
"At a meeting of EU defense ministers in Sweden on Wednesday, my Polish counterpart confirmed that his country would agree to the joint progress of Slovakia and Poland in transferring surplus MiG-29s from both countries to Ukraine," the minister wrote on Facebook.
He also added that Polish President Andrzej Duda also confirmed his readiness to help Ukraine with fighter jets in an interview with CNN.
"I think it's time to make a decision. People are dying in Ukraine, we can really help them, and there is no room for politicization of this issue in Slovakia. It is inhuman and irresponsible," Nagy emphasized.
Background. As reported in January, Defense Minister Jaroslav Nad said that Slovakia was ready to provide Ukraine with MiG-29 fighters and T-72 tanks.
On January 19, the defense ministers of Estonia, the United Kingdom, Poland, Latvia, and Lithuania, as well as representatives of Denmark, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, and Slovakia signed the Tallinn Declaration, in which they pledged to provide unprecedented assistance to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
