Source. This was announced during a briefing for the media by the CEO of the Parimatch holding Maxim Lyashko, dev.ua reports.
"We have completely stopped operating in Ukraine. At night, banks began to disconnect our web services from the ability to both deposit and withdraw funds for our customers," said Maxim Lyashko, CEO of Parimatch Holding.
Currently, UAH 250 million of customers' funds have been blocked.
"They are on the company's current accounts. They belong to the clients and I am sure that one way or another they will be able to access these funds," explained Lyashko.
According to Natalia Gilevich, CEO of Parimatch LLC, we are talking about the funds of "several tens of thousands of clients." The company also clarified that if players have funds on their balance, they can continue to play, but until the site is shut down.
As a reminder, on March 10, President Volodymyr Zelensky enacted the decision of the National Security and Defense Council to impose sanctions on 120 individuals and 287 legal entities. Parimatch was among them. The sanctions are imposed for 50 years and include asset freezes, restrictions on trade operations, a ban on capital withdrawals from Ukraine, and other restrictions.
The company appealed directly to President Zelensky, noting that Parimatch is a brand created by Ukrainians, developed by Ukrainians, employed and owned by Ukrainians.
"In March 2021, the company received licenses for betting and online casinos. Over two years, the company has paid more than UAH 850 million in taxes, fees, and license fees to the state budget of Ukraine," Parimatch said.
Since the beginning of the war, the Parimatch brand has ceased operations in Russia, banned any use of the brand, the company's technical solutions, and any presence in the territory of the aggressor country. This is confirmed by the official opinion and conclusions of the international law firm Mayer Brown, the company writes in a statement.
On November 13, 2022, Parimatch joined the UNITED24 fundraising platform, the President's initiative to provide financial assistance to Ukraine.
