British intelligence: russia is suffering extremely heavy losses on the battlefield
Isolation from mobilisation of the russian elite is becoming a problem in the face of losses among ethnic minorities

The russian army continues to suffer extremely heavy losses in the war against Ukraine.
This is stated in an intelligence report by the Ministry of Defence of the United Kingdom.
"In many of the Eastern regions, deaths are likely running, as a percentage of population, at a rate 30+ times higher than in moscow. In places, ethnic minorities take the biggest hit; in Astrakhan some 75% of casualties come from the minority Kazakh and Tartar populations.," the Defence Ministry adds.
It is noted that due to this, russian elites are increasingly isolating themselves from the population. For instance, on 21 February, during the address of russian dictator putin, russian senior officials were spotted making up the front two rows of the audience. It is known, however, that their children did not join the ranks of the russian occupation forces.
"As the russian MoD seeks to address its continued deficit of combat personnel, insulating the better-off and more influential elements of russian society will highly likely remain a major consideration," the intelligence service says.
Background. Some russian units are refusing to take part in the offensive and follow orders from incompetent commanders. Medical facilities in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine are overcrowded with seriously injured occupiers, and their evacuation for treatment in russia is hardly ever carried out.
