The Verkhovna Rada intends to increase military expenditures by more than half a trillion hryvnias
This is the largest budget increase in Ukraine's history

The Parliament intends to increase military expenditures by more than 500 billion UAH.
This was announced by Yaroslav Zheleznyak, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Finance, Taxation and Customs Policy.
He noted that that was the largest budget increase in the history of Ukraine.
Changes are planned to be implemented as early as this month.
Background. To recap: the Verkhovna Rada first amended the 2023 budget a few weeks ago by passing bill No. 8399 to increase state budget expenditures by 5.5 billion UAH. The money was planned to be used to reconstruct hospitals, rebuild bridges, and provide grants to processing companies.
