Trump says he will be arrested soon and calls on Americans to protest
Meanwhile, Manhattan prosecutors are investigating violations of campaign finance rules

Former US President Donald Trump said that on Tuesday he would be arrested in the case against him, which was brought by the Manhattan District Attorney's office.
He wrote about this on Truth Social, calling on his supporters to protest, Reuters reports.
Without any evidence, Trump claims that "illegal leaks" from the Manhattan District Attorney's office indicate that he will be arrested. The former president did not say what charges he would face.
"Protest, take back our nation!" Trump writes.
Trump is suspected of violating campaign finance rules. District Attorney Alvin Bragg's office this year began presenting evidence to a grand jury regarding a $130,000 payment that Michael Cohen, Trump's former personal lawyer, made to porn actress Stormy Daniels in the final days of Trump's 2016 campaign.
Daniels was going to speak publicly about her affair with Trump. The hush money was compensated from Trump's campaign fund. In 2018, Cohen pleaded guilty to violating campaign finance rules and was sentenced to three years in prison. He also claims to have received instructions to pay from Trump, which the former president denies.
Manhattan Borough has now appointed a special prosecutor to investigate Trump's activities. His office has gained access to documents related to Trump's business, his tax returns and other papers.
Trump has repeatedly criticized the Manhattan District Attorney's Office investigation, calling it politically motivated and trying to stop it. He has also promised to return to the White House and run for office in 2024.
Background. To recap, Trump said he would allow Putin to occupy Russian-speaking parts of Ukraine in exchange for peace.
