"I am confident that, with the support of our local and international partners, we will continue to stand by the people of Ukraine," said UN Humanitarian Coordinator Denise Brown.
Brown said that in 2022, the UN was able to provide life-saving humanitarian assistance to 16 million people – or about a third of Ukraine's population.
"We organized thousands of humanitarian convoys that delivered life-saving items such as food, water, medicine, hygiene kits and winter clothing to communities under fire and those fleeing to safer areas," Brown said.
"We have worked around the clock to order and deliver generators to critical facilities across the country, mostly hospitals and shelters, to ensure essential services are uninterrupted and to protect people from the winter cold. We have also provided materials and repairs so that people whose homes have been damaged can live in dignity," she added.
Background. As reported, a UN commission has recognized Russia's deportation of Ukrainian children from the occupied territories as a war crime.
