Germany to increase military aid to Ukraine sixfold - Bloomberg
Aid to Kyiv will more than double this year to 5.4 billion euros

The German government plans to increase financial support for Kyiv by 12 billion euros ($13 billion) to help Ukraine counter Russian aggression, according to sources familiar with the matter, Bloomberg reports.
Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, having received approval from the parliament's budget committee, intends to double aid to Kyiv for this year to 5.4 billion euros, the sources said.
According to them, if necessary, another 8.8 billion euros will be allocated in the coming years.
In total, Germany's additional assistance to Ukraine will increase to 14.2 billion euros, up from 2.2 billion euros initially.
This money is neither included in the regular defense budget nor in a special fund of 100 billion euros created to rearm the German armed forces.
The Committee is also expected to approve a plan to purchase 10 self-propelled rapid-fire howitzers from Krauss-Maffei Wegmann GmbH & Co. KG to replenish German stocks that were previously sent to Ukraine.
