Petrol and diesel prices may increase in Ukraine
This is inevitable due to the reduction of currency outflow and the need to fill the budget

Ukraine is going to raise fuel prices, according to the former head of the Ukrainian GTS Operator Serhiy Makohon.
"We are going to increase fuel tariffs. Petrol to 58 UAH, diesel to 53 UAH," Interfax-Ukraine quotes Mr. Makohon as saying.
In his opinion, this is inevitable given the need to fill the budget and reduce the outflow of foreign currency.
"Currently, petrol/diesel/LPG is 100% imported. Why not give people and businesses that have methane-fuelled LPG systems the opportunity to refuel with methane, which costs 25 UAH at CNG stations and does not require foreign currency because it is produced in Ukraine," he said.
According to him, "for this purpose, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine should simply oblige Naftogaz (through its ownership policy as the owner) to open a state-owned network of CNG stations."
The day before, Danylo Hetmantsev, head of the Verkhovna Rada's Finance Committee, said that the reduction of the value added tax (VAT) on fuel to 7% after the start of the war was a mistake and that it would be returned to the previous level of 20% in July.
