Ukraine discusses construction of another power transmission line with Poland – Energoatom
The project will increase the capacity of transmission lines to the European Union

Ukraine is discussing the construction of a power transmission line between the Rivne Nuclear Power Plant (RNPP) and Chełm, Poland, which will increase the capacity of the lines to the EU.
This was announced by Petro Kotin, Head of the NNEGC Energoatom, in a comment to Ukrinform.
"The line with RNPP, which is one of our most powerful plants and has 4 power units, has generated 2835 MW of power. Since it is located in the north-west of Ukraine, it is feasible to build a line to the EU there. We have found an investor, the Polish company ORLEN, which has offered to build such a line on certain conditions," Mr. Kotin said.
He added that this issue was being discussed, including with the participation of the Ministry of Energy, NNEGC Energoatom, and NPC Ukrenergo. According to Mr. Kotin, construction is currently being considered at the level of a proposal and a protocol of intent, so negotiations on this topic are ongoing.
"Today, there are many projects aimed at increasing the number of these interconnectors between Ukraine and the EU. One of them is the line between Khmelnytskyi NPP and the Polish city of Rzeszów, which has not been operating for 30 years," added the head of Energoatom.
