More than a thousand units of TPP equipment were damaged, he said

Direct losses from damage and destruction of DTEK Energy's facilities as a result of 30 attacks by Russia during the autumn-winter period of 2022/2023 amount to UAH 6 billion.
Source. This was announced by the company's CEO Ildar Saleev, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
"For DTEK Energy employees, this winter was associated with considerable challenges. The company's power engineers were attacked by the enemy 30 times. Three people were killed and 28 injured. More than a thousand pieces of TPP equipment were damaged, with direct losses amounting to UAH 6 billion," said Saleev.
Summing up the results of the season that is coming to an end, he noted that over 5.5 months of its duration, the company has repaired 9 TPP units, put 14 new coal faces into operation, manufactured 9 coal combines and 357,000 spare parts and components, and shipped 181,000 tons of coal for the needs of state thermal generation.
In total, he estimates that DTEK Energy generated 7.8 billion kWh of electricity during the winter season, which is equivalent to the average consumption of 2.6 million households over the course of a year.
"Whatever lies ahead, Ukrainians can do it. We have gone through this winter, we can go through anything!" – Mr. Saleev expressed confidence, noting that the company started preparing for the new OPP two months ago.
As reported with reference to the results of a new comprehensive joint assessment by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the World Bank, released on April 5, 2023, the damage to Ukraine's electricity, gas and heat infrastructure exceeds $10 billion.
DTEK Energy reported that each of its six TPPs had suffered damage, including to major equipment, and that Luhansk and Zaporizhzhia TPPs remained on the temporarily occupied territory.
Background. Last winter, it was reported that DTEK started importing electricity from Europe to support the Ukrainian power system.
