In the Prime Minister's Office, in the presence of Zelensky and Morawiecki, an agreement was signed on cooperation in the joint production of 125 mm tank ammunition. Later, President Zelensky and Prime Minister Morawiecki signed a protocol of intent on cooperation in the supply of defense equipment, including Rosomak KTO armored personnel carriers.
In a statement after the meeting with the Polish prime minister, the Ukrainian president emphasized that the talks resulted in the creation of "a package for the Ukrainian army to protect the freedom of Ukraine, Poland, and the whole world."
"It is very important that those who are in the trenches, where it is hot, in the east and south of Ukraine, know that here in Warsaw we have agreed to give all soldiers more strength – we really need this strength," Zelensky said, thanking Moravetsky for his support and cooperation.
The President of Ukraine noted that the supply of Polish Rosomak combat vehicles, as well as Rak self-propelled mortars and "much-needed Piorun anti-aircraft systems" was in question.
"It is great that you produce them, this is a very important product that protects the lives of Ukrainians. Together with our brothers, we have also decided today to create joint plants for the production of weapons and ammunition – our industry in this area will be more efficient," the President of Ukraine said.
As he emphasized, when it comes to supporting Ukraine, "Poland's leadership is very noticeable," for example, in the "tank coalition" that is providing Ukraine with Western Leopard 2 tanks.
Zelensky also emphasized the need to create an "aviation coalition" with allies to provide Ukraine with combat aircraft.
Background. On Sunday, April 2, during a visit to the PGZ-owned Rosomak plant, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced an order for 100 Rosomak vehicles for Ukraine. The deal will be financed by US and EU funds.
PGZ President Sebastian Chwalek said that the vehicles will be delivered in various modifications depending on customer requirements, and the exact configuration of the weapons will be the subject of detailed discussion. He expressed confidence that the Finnish side, which is the vehicle's licensor, would agree to the sale.
