Pentagon signs $27 million contract for production of Abrams tanks for Ukraine

The Pentagon has signed a $27.1 million contract for the production of M1A1 Abrams tanks for Ukraine.
This is stated on the website of the US Department of Defence.
The contract was signed with General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS). According to the document, production should be completed by 29 September this year.
The production of tanks will be funded under the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative. It involves the US Department of Defence entering into contracts with manufacturers.
