Russia lost more than 10,000 pieces of military equipment in Ukraine during the invasion
These are only the losses recorded in photos and videos, while the actual number may be much higher

Over the year and a half of the war in Ukraine, the Russian army has lost 10,009 pieces of military equipment.
Source. These data as of April 10 are provided by Oryx experts who track losses on both sides.
Oryx takes into account only those losses that are documented by photographs or video. Therefore, the real scale of material damage that Russia has suffered as a result of the aggression unleashed by dictator Putin may be much greater.
Almost two-thirds of the Russian military equipment was destroyed by the Ukrainian army, and more than a quarter was left by Russia to the Ukrainian army during panic retreats.
Many of the tanks, transporters, missile systems, communication systems, etc. are being used by Ukrainian craftsmen to repair existing weapons.
Oryx divided the losses of Russian equipment into four groups:
- destroyed – 6477,
- damaged – 304,
- abandoned – 394,
- 2834 captured.
The lion's share of the losses are infantry fighting vehicles (2,286) and tanks (1,928), including 60 state-of-the-art T-90 tanks, 18 of which are the latest T-90M model.
The biggest losses include almost 100 tanks in 100 hours during the Ukrainian counteroffensive near Kharkiv in September and the failed offensive near Vuhledar in February 2023.
In the latter case, Colonel General Rustam Muradov threw his army into minefields and under artillery fire, losing two elite marines and 103 pieces of equipment, including 36 tanks (according to Oryx estimates) in three days.
As reported, in early April, Putin dismissed Muradov from the post of commander of the Eastern Military District and removed him from command in Ukraine. At the same time, as we wrote, British intelligence predicts many dismissals among the Russian command.
