Switzerland will provide $1.7 billion to Ukraine

The Swiss government promises to provide Kyiv with long-term financial support. In addition to the already promised 300 million Swiss francs, Bern intends to allocate another 1.5 billion francs ($1.7 billion) to Ukraine by 2028.

This was stated by Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis, speaking in Washington at the annual joint spring meeting of the World Bank and the IMF.

In 2023-2024, Ukraine will receive 300 million francs (over $338 million).

In total, over the next six years, Switzerland plans to transfer at least 1.8 billion francs (over $2 billion) to Ukraine.

Background. As reported, Western countries have accused Switzerland of "not freezing" Russian assets enough.
