NAPC adds Chinese Xiaomi to the list of international war sponsors
Xiaomi is now actively recruiting staff for its Russian offices, indicating its intention to re-establish a full-fledged presence in Russia

The National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NAPC) has added China's Xiaomi Corporation to the list of international sponsors of war. This is stated on the agency's website.
In 2021, Xiaomi became the world's leading smartphone maker, and also produces household appliances, tablets, smartwatches, software, electric scooters, electric bicycles, and much more.
The Chinese company has not only continued its work in Russia after the full-scale invasion, but also remains the leader in smartphone sales there.
From 2018 to the present day, Xiaomi has been ranked first in sales in online stores in Russia, and also has a large network of official Mi Store retail stores throughout Russia.
During the full-scale war, Xiaomi managed to increase its deliveries to Russia by 39% in the third quarter of 2022 compared to the previous one.
Thus, in 2022, Xiaomi doubled its market share and is now the leader in smartphone sales in Russia.
In July 2022, Xiaomi and its POCO sub-brand together held 42% of the Russian smartphone market, ranking first in terms of sales.
According to official data, in 2021, Xiaomi's Russian subsidiary generated revenue of $202 million.
The Russian market is extremely important for this Chinese company, which is why Xiaomi has not even announced its plans to leave Russia.
Moreover, Xiaomi is now actively recruiting staff for its Russian offices and has announced the launch of flagship smartphones, which indicates the company's intention to restore its full-fledged presence in Russia.
As a reminder, the NACP has already added 21 companies to the list of international sponsors of war.
Background. As reported, Ukraine has added Chinese construction company CSCEC to the list of war sponsors. Its subsidiary is a contractor for a number of Russian construction projects and continues to expand its presence in Russia.
