The death toll from a russian strike on Slovyansk has risen to five, with 15 people wounded. The explosion destroyed the upper floors of a multi-story building.

"As of 6:00 p.m. we know about 5 dead and 15 wounded. There is a possibility that seven people, including one child, are under the rubble," said Pavlo Kyrylenko, Head of the Donetsk Oblast Military Administration.

"Let me remind you that at about 4 p.m. russians launched a missile attack on Slovyansk. According to preliminary data, S-300 missiles were used. Five multi-storey buildings and five private houses, a shop, a shopping center, a club and three cars were damaged," Pavlo Kyrylenko reminded.

He added that explosive experts, paramedics, rescuers and police were working at the scene.


UPDATED. The Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office told Suspilne that a two-year-old child died and a 14-year-old girl was injured due to the shelling of Sloviansk by russians.

Earlier, Daria Zarivna, an employee of the Office of the President, wrote that the child, who was found alive under the rubble of a residential building in Slovyansk, had died in an ambulance on the way to the hospital.

As of now, 6 people are known dead and 18 injured as a result of the russian attack on Slovyansk, the regional police reported. The rubble is being cleared.


UPDATED. Pavlo Kyrylenko, Head of the Donetsk Oblast Military Administration, said that the death toll has risen to 8, with 21 people injured.

According to Kyrylenko, the building was struck with seven S-300 missiles.

Background. As reported, two days ago the occupants shelled Kurakhivka in Donetsk region with cluster munitions.
