"Two nuclear power plants should eventually account for about 10-13% of the country's energy balance. The final decision on their construction will be made in about a year and a half," the statement says.
It is noted that in the long term, about 70% of energy in the Netherlands will be generated from offshore wind farms.
Currently, the country operates one Borssele NPP with a capacity of 495 MW.
