"There was a meeting between the Ukrainian and Polish sides. We are not against transit, but we need a 100% guarantee that products that destabilise our market will not remain in Poland," the minister explained.
Telus added that the temporary ban should encourage the EU to provide additional subsidies to Polish farmers. He stressed that this would allow them to sell grain profitably and thus free up their warehouses and prepare them for the harvest.
Background. Earlier, it was reported that the European Commission was preparing a new support package for European farmers affected by Ukrainian grain. Poland, Bulgaria, and Romania had already received the first aid package, but it was not enough.
