Czech Republic to completely abandon russian gas in the first quarter of 2023
The Czech Minister of Industry states that the country has got rid of almost 100 per cent dependence on russian gas imports
The Czech Republic completely abandoned russian gas in the first quarter of 2023.
This was announced by the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic Jozef Síkela, České noviny reports.
"For the first time in the modern history of the Czech Republic, we have completely cut off gas supplies from russia. This is a great success. I don't know of any other country that could get rid of almost 100 per cent dependence on gas imports from russia within a year," the Czech minister said.
Síkela added that the russian energy resource had been replaced by supplies of natural and liquefied gas from Norway, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
