In May, the Bumar-Labedy plant in Gliwice, southern Poland, will begin repairing and servicing Leopard 2A4 and 2A6 tanks from Ukraine.
Source. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Poland Mariusz Blaszczak, BBC reports.
"Leopard 2A4 and 2A6 tanks from Ukraine will be serviced and repaired at the Bumar-Labendy plant in Hlivytsi. This service center will start operating in May," Blaszczak said.
It was decided to establish a tank maintenance center in Poland at a meeting of Western defense ministers at the Ramstein military base in April.
As reported, the agreement on the creation of the center was signed by Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and his German and Polish counterparts, Borys Pistorius and Mariusz Blaszczak. The terms of the agreement have not been made public.
