Chinese Foreign Ministry names its representative to visit Ukraine
Ambassador will visit Ukraine and other countries to help conduct "in-depth communication" with all sides

At a briefing on Wednesday, the Chinese Foreign Ministry announced that Li Huei, the Chinese government's special representative for Eurasia, will be its representative in Ukraine and "other countries."
Source. This was reported by CNN.
Li is a former Chinese ambassador to Russia, who served from 2009 to 2019.
During a telephone conversation with Zelensky, Xi said that the ambassador would visit Ukraine and other countries to help conduct "in-depth communication" with all parties for a political settlement of the Ukrainian crisis.
The ministry did not provide further details on when Li would travel or what other countries he would visit.
Wednesday's phone call was Xi's first conversation with Zelenskiy since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
By comparison, Xi has spoken with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin five times since the invasion – including face-to-face at the Kremlin when the Chinese leader visited Moscow last month.
Background. Today, Xi Jinping reportedly had a phone conversation with Volodymyr Zelensky for the first time since the invasion began. During the conversation, Xi promised Zelensky to send his special representative to Kyiv.
