The package will include "additional ammunition for highly mobile artillery rocket systems, howitzers, artillery and tank ammunition, anti-tank weapons, missiles, small arms and ammunition, trucks and trailers for transporting heavy equipment, spare parts, as well as other field equipment needed to strengthen Ukraine's defenders on the battlefield."
It is noted that the aid includes AT-4 and Carl Gustaf ATGMs and, for the first time, Hydra-70 unguided air defense missiles, small arms and ammunition, trucks and trailers for the transportation of heavy equipment.
Earlier on Wednesday, White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre said that the package came after "significant work by the US government over the past several months to fulfill Ukraine's requests ahead of its planned counteroffensive and ensure that it has the weapons and equipment it needs."
"This new package will help Ukraine continue to defend itself courageously in the face of russia's brutal, unprovoked and unjustified war. russia can end the war today. Until it does, the United States, our allies and partners will stand united with Ukraine for as long as it takes," Blinken said.
Background. The day before, it was reported that Denmark would send Ukraine $250 million in military aid to support the counteroffensive.
