Ukraine to celebrate Europe Day on 9th May – Zelensky signs decree
President also proposes to establish 8 May as the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism in World War II

Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a decree initiating the celebration of Europe Day in Ukraine on 9 May.
This was mentioned in the President's address.
"Starting from tomorrow, every 9 May, we will honour our historical unity – the unity of all Europeans who defeated Nazism and will overcome ruscism. Unity that brings peace closer," Zelensky commented.
The head of state also submitted a bill to the Parliament, proposing to establish 8 May as the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism in World War II. "Unfortunately, evil has returned. Although the aggressor is different now, they have the same goal – enslavement or destruction. And just as we relied on the combined strength of free nations back then, now we fight against evil together with the free world, together with a free Europe," Zelensky added.
Background. Previously, Mind reported that a Berlin court had allowed the demonstration of the russian flag on 9 May. Earlier, the police had imposed a corresponding ban.
