Following a missile strike on the Odessa region, carried out by russians on Monday night, 8 May, a 1,000 square metre storage facility rented by the Odessa Regional Organisation of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society has been completely destroyed.

As reported by the organisation, the fire that occurred due to the missile strike completely destroyed humanitarian aid intended for Odessa Oblast, which was stored in the warehouse. At the time of the missile strike, there were no staff members or volunteers of the organisation on site.
Due to the warehouse's destruction, the provision of humanitarian aid and the operation of several Red Cross projects in Odessa Oblast have been suspended.
Background. On Monday night, russian forces launched a massive missile and aerial attack on Ukrainian territory, including the Odessa Oblast. It was reported that a Kh-22 type missile struck a warehouse at one of the food enterprises in the Odessa district, causing a severe fire.
Later, the head of the Public Council at the Odessa Oblast Military Administration, Serhiy Bratchuk, clarified that the warehouse of the Odessa Regional Organisation of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society had been hit. Later, under the rubble of the warehouse, the body of a deceased security guard was found.
Bratchuk also reported that an enemy missile had completely destroyed one of the resorts on the coast of the Black Sea and damaged nearby buildings.
The day before, on 7 May, a mobile hospital of the Mykolaiv Regional Organisation of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society was damaged due to a missile attack on Mykolaiv Oblast. As a result of the strike, part of the medical equipment, technical means and furniture that were there became unsuitable for further use.
