UkrGasVydobuvannya to spend 300 million UAH on equipment repair that has been stored in warehouses for 5 years
By the end of 2024, three Mars90 engines need to be repaired and a compressor modernised, which have been stored in warehouses for 5 years
The state company UkrGasVydobuvannya signed two agreements on May 4 with the Belgian Solar Turbines Europe S.A. for repair and maintenance services totalling $8.15 million (298.22 million UAH).

According to the agreements, by the end of 2024, three Mars90 gas turbine engines need to be repaired at a cost of $1.97 million each and a C61 compressor modernised for $2.25 million.
"These turbo compressor units (Mars 90), due to prolonged downtime (they have been stored in the warehouses of the State Production Enterprise Shebelynkagasvydobuvannya for over 5 years), require internal inspection, inspection and repair works", the procurement justification states.
For the same reason, it is necessary to replace the flow part of the compressor of one of the units.
Belgian Solar Turbines Europe S.A. is a subsidiary of the American manufacturer Solar Turbines, which is part of the Caterpillar corporation. It is intended to support equipment in Europe.
The procurement specifies that this company is the only one that can perform such repair and modernisation. Due to the absence of competition, the procurement was carried out without bidding.
Background. In 2018, UkrGasVydobuvannya ordered engines from this company for $13.50 million, in 2021 – repair for $25.99 million and service services for $6.14 million, and in 2022 – spare parts for $5 million. In total, they have signed agreements with it for $58.78 million.
In addition, in 2017-2018, the American subsidiary of the same manufacturer – Solar Turbines International Company – sold UkrGasVydobuvannya engines for $55.50 million.
