Kyivstar allocates UAH 10 million for the purchase of medical equipment for the burn unit in Lviv

The telecom operator Kyivstar has allocated UAH 10 million to purchase medical equipment for the burn unit of a hospital in Lviv as part of the Children's Hope project.

Source. This was reported by the operator's press service on Thursday.

"The company is currently investing UAH 10 million to purchase medical equipment for the National Rehabilitation Center "Unbreakable" to help children with burns. We invite everyone who cares to support the initiative and move towards victory together," Kyivstar B2B Director Kostiantyn Vechir said on Thursday.

About 12,000 children suffer from burns in Ukraine, and due to the lack of necessary conditions and medical equipment, Ukraine is forced to send the most seriously burned children abroad, the report says.

"We want to build such a burn service in Ukraine so that every child with burns can receive highly qualified and effective medical care in Ukraine, rather than traveling outside their home country for such treatment," said Viktor Lyashko, Minister of Health of Ukraine.

The allocated funds from the operator will be used to purchase a burn bed, an anesthesia station, surgical instruments and laboratory equipment for analysis for the Unbreakable Center.

As part of the initiative, the company continues to raise funds for a laser to treat burn scars in children. Each prepaid subscriber can make a one-time transfer via SMS to 450025, join the project by donating via a bank card on dobro.ua, or activate the Kyivstar TV Charity package, which will transfer UAH 100 per month to support the project.

Background. As reported, Kyivstar's owner has received US permission to sell russia's Beeline – the US Treasury Department's sanctions division allowed Veon to divest its russian assets.
