The Polish Senate has called on NATO members to apply an expedited accession procedure for Ukraine
In the opinion of the senators, Ukraine's accession to NATO should be a political decision

The Polish Senate has passed a resolution calling on NATO members to apply an exceptional accession procedure for Ukraine, as was adopted for Finland and Sweden.
This was reported by Ruslan Stefanchuk, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
According to the senators, Ukraine's accession to NATO should be a political decision, the result of strategic analysis of challenges and threats beyond the Alliance's eastern border.
"I thank the Polish Senate, personally Marshal Tomasz Grodzki, for adopting a resolution of paramount importance for Ukraine on the eve of the Vilnius NATO summit," Stefanchuk commented.
Background. Mind previously reported that NATO had put its aircraft on high alert following an incident with russian and Polish planes. A russian plane intentionally flew directly in front of a Polish aircraft, with only five metres separating the two fighters.
