Export of goods in Q1 decreased by 26.1%, import increased by 10.9% – State Statistics Service
In the first three months of this year, Ukraine exported $10.3 billion worth of goods, while imports amounted to $15.7 billion

In the first quarter of 2023, the export of goods amounted to $10,305.5 million, or 73.9% compared to the same period last year, and imports – $15,699.4 million, or 110.9%. The trade deficit was $5,393.9 million.
This is stated in a report by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.
It is clarified that the export to import coverage ratio was 0.66 (in the first quarter of 2022 – 0.99), and that trade operations were conducted with partners from 212 countries around the world.
It is noted, in particular, that the export of grain crops for the first three months of this year fell by 3.5% ($3.17 billion), fats and oils of animal or vegetable origin by 11.6% ($1.47 billion), electrical machinery by 38.1% ($469 million), ferrous metals by 75.3% ($583.7 million).
On the other hand, import of ground transport increased by 38.3% ($1.35 million), electrical machines by 48.2% ($1.77 billion). Import of mineral fuels, oil and distillation products decreased by 2.3% ($3.78 billion).
Background. As reported by Mind, the World Bank has downgraded its growth forecasts for the Ukrainian economy, with this year's GDP forecasted at 2.7%.
