The EU antitrust authority on Monday approved the acquisition of Activision Blizzard by tech giant Microsoft Corp for $69 billion, noting that the measures proposed by the US corporation have allayed the regulator's concerns.

The European Commission reported that Microsoft has offered European consumers 10-year free license agreements and cloud-based streaming services for Activision PC and console games, confirming a March Reuters report.
"These promises fully address the competition concerns identified by the Commission and represent a significant improvement for the cloud gaming market compared to the current situation," the EU competition authority said in a statement.
