European regulator approves $69 billion deal between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard

The EU antitrust authority on Monday approved the acquisition of Activision Blizzard by tech giant Microsoft Corp for $69 billion, noting that the measures proposed by the US corporation have allayed the regulator's concerns.

Source. It was reported by Reuters.

The European Commission reported that Microsoft has offered European consumers 10-year free license agreements and cloud-based streaming services for Activision PC and console games, confirming a March Reuters report.

"These promises fully address the competition concerns identified by the Commission and represent a significant improvement for the cloud gaming market compared to the current situation," the EU competition authority said in a statement.

Background. Earlier it became known that the British Competition and Markets Authority blocked Microsoft's deal to acquire Activision Blizzard for $69 billion.
