Washington and London, according to South African president, have expressed cautious support for the plan

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa said on Tuesday that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin have agreed to each meet with a group of African leaders at their respective residences to discuss a potential peaceful plan to end the "conflict."
Source. This was reported by Reuters.
Details of the plan have not been made public.
"My conversations with the two leaders have demonstrated that they are both willing to host African leaders and discuss how to end this conflict," Ramaphosa said at a joint press briefing with Singapore's Prime Minister in Cape Town.
Background. At the same time, last week the United States said that South Africa provided Russia with weapons for the war against Ukraine. According to intelligence reports, the weapons were transported on the Russian ship Lady R, refusing to say what cargo it was carrying.
According to the South African president, the UN Secretary General, the United States and the United Kingdom were informed of the initiative. Washington and London, he said, expressed cautious support for the plan.
Neither Ukraine nor Russia has commented on these statements so far.
According to the South African president, the mission of African leaders will include the heads of Egypt, Senegal, and Uganda.
