The order is worth more than 100 million euros. The radars will be delivered to Ukraine in the second half of 2023 after the training of Ukrainian operators.
"We are pleased to support Ukraine with additional radars that will strengthen Ukraine's air surveillance and air defense sensor network," said Hensoldt CEO Thomas Müller.
The radars are equipped with the latest Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) technology, which at an early stage identifies about 1,500 targets within a radius of up to 250 km.
It is currently planned to start training the Ukrainian military on the radars.
It is known that so far, four TRML-4D radar systems have been transferred to Ukraine as part of military assistance, the first of which arrived in October 2022.
