The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed six Shahed and two Merlin UAVs.
This was reported by the Air Command's press service.
"On the night of 23 May 2023, six enemy strike UAVs Shahed-136/131 and two reconnaissance UAVs Merlin-VR were destroyed in various sectors," the statement said.
Background. Yesterday, defenders shot down a russian Mi-24 helicopter in Donetsk Oblast. The helicopter tried to shell the village of New York in Donetsk Oblast, but a Ukrainian anti-aircraft gunner shot it down with a portable anti-aircraft missile system Igla. After being hit, the helicopter fell on the temporarily occupied territory near Horlivka.
