Poland will demand that the EU create a fund to support Ukraine's neighboring countries

As the mid-term review of the EU budget is scheduled for June, Poland will demand that the European Commission create a fund to support Ukraine's neighboring countries.

Source. This was stated by MEP Zbigniew Kuzmiuk on Polish Radio.

According to him, there is a chance to create an EU fund to support Ukraine's neighboring countries as early as June. These funds could be used by the countries that have received the largest number of refugees, he explained.

"There is a chance that these resources will appear. Poland is now insisting that the revision of the multi-annual financial program for 2021-2027 should result in the creation of a fund to help countries bordering Ukraine that have received the largest number of war refugees," Kuzmiuk said.

To date, the European Union has allocated humanitarian aid worth more than €500 million to support refugees. In addition, member states that host refugees can use money from the REACT-EU fund that has not been spent on fighting the pandemic.
