In Vinnytsia Oblast, a 100-metre bridge that connects the oblast to Odessa has been restored.
This is reported by the Ministry of Restoration.
It is noted that the bridge was closed to freight transport due to the emergency condition of its supports a year and a half ago. The detour was 5 km, and due to the reverse traffic on the approaches, there were several-kilometre-long traffic jams.
Now, the bridge has been widened, its supports and superstructure have been repaired, lighting has been installed, and a new surface has been laid.
Another infrastructure reconstruction project is being implemented by the ministry in Zhytomyr Oblast – the first rebuilt part of the bridge on the Kyiv–Chop highway has already been opened to traffic. Road workers are repairing the bridge in parts, so as not to halt traffic on one of the country's key routes.
The department reminds us that this crossing was attacked by russian aviation at the beginning of the full-scale invasion. In total, 346 bridges have been destroyed due to russian aggression in Ukraine, 157 of which are located on state roads.
Currently, the restoration of 25 bridges is being carried out in the Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Mykolaiv oblasts.
