Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council, Oleksiy Danilov, added that the explosives at the station had been planted back in September-October 2022.

Furthermore, according to him, the order for the demolition was issued by putin himself:

“Such instructions are not given at other levels. It is not the level of a battalion, division, it is not even the level of a situation related to Shoigu," explained Danilov.

The russians had long been preparing for an attack on the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant.

This is reported by the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU).

It is noted that the state was prepared for various occupiers' behaviors at the station, including the possibility of blowing up the dam.

"Ukraine publicly informed, as well as partners through other channels, about the upcoming mining and possible demolition. This is not a spontaneous act, it is a terrorist attack that the russians had been preparing for a long time," added DIU representative Andriy Yusov.

According to the spokesperson for the Directorate, moscow's involvement in the demolition of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant is indisputably proven by a number of public information, including the chronology of propagandists' reactions to the dam breach.

“Initially, nothing happens, then – it happens, but partially, and then – Ukraine is to blame, but they, the occupiers, are very pleased that the islands, where supposedly our defenders were based, have been flooded," explained Yusov.

In the DIU, they emphasize that, considering the engineering features of the structure, no one, except for the russians, physically had the opportunity and means to carry out the demolition.

Background. Earlier, Mind reported that the water level in the Kakhovka Reservoir had decreased by almost 2.5 meters within a day. The reservoir level in the Nikopol region is 14.41 meters.
