Shmyhal asks the UN and the Red Cross to evacuate residents from the flooded areas occupied by russia

On Wednesday, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal appealed to leading international humanitarian organizations to help evacuate residents from the flooded areas of russian-occupied Kherson Oblast.
He noted that the russian occupation forces have not offered any assistance to the residents after the devastating dam break.
Shmyhal appealed to the leaders of the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in a video message posted on Twitter, calling for "immediate action."
"We are appealing to you to take over the evacuation of people from the russian-occupied territories of Kherson Oblast," he said.

Shmyhal noted that residents of the occupied areas of Kherson region "were abandoned by the russians" and "left to die" while their homes "disappear under water."
Representatives of the UN humanitarian organization visited Kherson on Wednesday to "coordinate humanitarian assistance" with local organizations and authorities, according to a press release from the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
"They said that the disaster is likely to worsen in the coming hours, with water levels still rising and villages and towns inundated," the UN said. – "This will affect people's access to basic services and increase serious health risks.
