Norwegian seismologists recorded that Kakhovka HPP was destroyed by an explosion
Therefore, the version that it "collapsed on its own after previous shelling" is no longer valid

The Norwegian media published a preliminary analysis of seismograms taken from seismic stations as close as possible to the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant dam. It provided the first independent confirmation that the dam's destruction was caused by an explosion.

The Norwegian monitoring group NORSAR recorded a seismic event in the vicinity of the hydroelectric power plant, with an accuracy of 20-30 km, at 2:54 a.m. local time on June 6. This coincides with the time when the dam began to collapse.
By the nature of the event (a short release of energy), it is definitely an explosion. A mistake in this conclusion is virtually impossible: the methodology was developed decades ago to distinguish not just a rock shift from an explosion, but an underground nuclear explosion from a conventional one.
NORSAR representative Volker Oye says that any other seismic event that coincided in time and place with the dam's destruction is virtually impossible.
The magnitude of the likely explosion is estimated at 1-2, which corresponds to a TNT equivalent of up to one ton.
It is impossible to obtain more detailed information from the available data, including whether the dam was blown up from the inside or outside by a missile attack.
It was seismic data from last year that made it possible for the first time to confidently say that the destruction of Nord Stream was caused by explosions.
The network of seismic stations in Europe is much denser, and this made it possible to confidently geolocate the explosions and determine their power to the nearest hundreds of kilograms of equivalent.
Background. As reported, Russia has prepared a disinformation campaign to accuse Ukraine of blowing up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant – propagandists have already created provocative materials.
