Ukraine has suffered a loss of 55 billion UAH due to the sabotage of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant.
This was reported by Ruslan Strilets, Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine.
According to the ministry, 62% or 12.24 cubic km of water has already leaked from the Kakhovka reservoir. The water level in the reservoir has reached 10.55 meters and continues to decline.
"30% of Kherson Oblast's natural reserve fund is at risk of disappearing. Water from the Kakhovka reservoir has leveled with the water mirror of the Lower Dnieper National Park," commented the Minister.
Background. Earlier, Mind reported that in Kherson Oblast, the water receded another 31 cm overnight. Rain is expected in the region in the coming days, which will slow down the water level drop.
