IAEA mission headed by Grossi goes to Ukraine to try to gain access to occupied ZNPP
Grossi also plans to meet with President Zelensky

The mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is on a visit to Ukraine. Its head, Rafael Grossi, announced this on his Twitter page.
He plans to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and present his assistance program after the dam at the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant was blown up.
He also intends to assess the situation at the Zaporizhzhia NPP and rotate the agency's experts at the plant.
The destruction of the Kakhovka dam potentially threatens the safety of Zaporizhzhia NPP, as water from the reservoir was used to cool the reactors, which is now catastrophically depleted.
Grossi intends to find out on the spot what the situation with water is: in particular, the IAEA wants to get access to the thermal power plant near Zaporizhzhia NPP.
It's important for the IAEA to get there because measurements at this plant show a higher water level than in other parts of the Kakhovka reservoir. And if the water level drops below a certain point, the pumps that take water for the NPP will stop working.
However, now the water reserves near the NPP will be enough for several months of cooling, the IAEA added.
Background. Earlier it was reported that the IAEA is launching a program to help Ukrainians affected by the destruction of the Kakhovka HPP.
