Russia has lost one more general in the war
In total, four Russian generals have been officially confirmed dead since the beginning of the war

On June 12, Russian Major General Sergei Goryachev, Chief of Staff of the 35th Combined Arms Army, was killed in action on the border of Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions.

It is noted that Goryachev is the first general killed in Ukraine in a year.
At the beginning of the invasion, Goryachev headed the 5th Separate Tank Brigade, and during the war he was promoted to the post of Chief of Staff of the Army. By early 2022, he was in charge of the 201st Russian military base in Tajikistan. From 2013 to 2018, Goryachev was the head of the Russian task force in Transnistria.
The last confirmed death of a military leader of this level occurred on June 5, 2022. Major General Roman Kutuzov, First Deputy Commander of the 8th Guards Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District, was killed near the city of Popasna, Luhansk Oblast.
In total, four generals have been confirmed dead since the beginning of the war. At the very beginning of the invasion, Major General Andriy Sukhovetsky and Major General Volodymyr Frolov were killed. Last May, retired Major General Kanamat Botashev, who fought in the Wagner PMC, was killed.
The media reported the deaths of five other generals in combat, although these reports have not yet been confirmed.
